LISBON, www.news-viptv.com – President of Timor-Leste, Jose Ramos-Horta congratulated Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on being re-elected president of Brazil and with his leadership, Brazil will return to golden period.
“In the international arena, with Lula in office Brazil will return to the golden period he experienced in his previous presidency, when Economist magazine cover described the country as “the stratospheric Brazil.” wrote Ramos-Horta in an official statement he wrote through the official page of his facebook account (José Ramos-Horta; http://web.facebook.com/officialramoshorta) ,Monday (31/10/2022)
According to Ramos-Horta, the presidential election that took place in Brazil was very clean, transparent and credible.
“The elections were clean, were managed with competence and integrity by the Brazilian electoral institutions, and have been internationally recognized as credible,” Ramos-Horta Said.
“Congratulations Lula! Congratulations Brazilian People! Justice was done by restoring the vibrant Brazilian democracy and correcting the serious violations of the rule of law and the injustices committed against Lula in the pursuit and manipulation of judicial power,” write Ramos-Horta.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate also explained that when world leaders joined in supporting the conviction of Lula Silva, Ramos-Horta insisted he did not participate in that support and he stated that it was a political game to prevent him from being in the presidential election at that time.
“Not many world leaders stood with Lula when he was humiliated and jailed. I was one of the few to denounce the manipulation of Brazilian Justice by politicized “judges” and stood in solidarity with Lula. On Radio Brasil Atual, 22 August 2019. I said that Lula is a political prisoner and that his conviction was to remove him from the election,” explained Ramos-Horta in his statement.
The Brazilian people now have the task before them to reconcile, to heal the deep wounds in society, eliminate exclusion and discrimination, bring together the entire large multi-color, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural Brazilian family, and mobilize their creativity for the vision of a new, reconciled, peaceful, solidarity, fraternal Brazil.
In this troubled, extremely dangerous, fragmented world, so lacking in charismatic global leadership, Lula could be the voice of moderation, the builder of bridges of dialogue and conflict resolution.
“Long live President Lula. Long live the Brazilian people,” said Ramos-Horta closing his statement.
