Croatia Wants to Help Timor-Leste in Development and Economic Projects

DILI, – Croatia, in its bilateral cooperation relations, wants to help Timor-Leste in development and economic projects.

Croatian Ambassador to Indonesia and ASEAN, Nebojsa Koharovic, in his meeting with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Xanana Gusmão, stated that this European Union member country was also interested in cooperation in the fields of education and health.

“Croatia, like East Timor, is a country fought in war. But now we’re talking basically today about the development aid and about the possibilities of cooperation, especially in several fields, namely the one in education, secondly, the one in healthcare and the health industry, and the third one, of course, in development and economical project,” said Nebojsa Koharovic to journalists, Monday (19/2/2024), at the Palacio do Governo, Dili.

Apart from this bilateral cooperation, Ambassador Nebojsa Koharovic also spoke about cooperation between Timor-Leste and European Union countries.

“And finally, I am very happy to inform you that we’ve been talking about the possibility of Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão visiting Croatia during his brief term in Europe in May this year, when he will be present on the Blue Economy Summit in Greece. So we are planning also for him to tour Croatia during his European tour,”. explained the Croatian Ambassador.
