PNTL And PCIC Boost Digital Forensics Skills Through TLPDP Training

Dili, WWWNEWS-VIPTV  — Ten officers from Timor-Leste’s National Police (PNTL) and Scientific Criminal Investigation Police (PCIC) have completed specialized digital forensics training facilitated by the Timor-Leste Police Development Program (TLPDP), strengthening their technical skills in analyzing digital evidence and supporting criminal investigations.

The certificates were presented by PNTL Operations Command Commander Assistant Police Commissioner Armando Monteiro, alongside TLPDP representative Darren Boy, during a closing ceremony held at the TLPDP office in Hudi Laran, Dili.

The 10 graduates comprise five officers from PNTL’s Directorate of Criminal Investigation Services (DSIK) and five officers from the PCIC.

The training aimed to enhance participants’ professional knowledge and technical capabilities in digital forensics, particularly in identifying, collecting, analyzing, and examining digital evidence in accordance with established procedures and professional standards.

The skills acquired are expected to support more effective, credible, and evidence-based criminal investigations, particularly as law enforcement agencies face increasingly complex challenges in the digital era.

The initiative also highlights cooperation between PNTL, PCIC, and TLPDP in developing human resources and strengthening institutional capacity in criminal investigation.

PNTL continues to emphasize professional training and partnerships as part of its efforts to improve investigative services and respond effectively to emerging forms of crime in Timor-Leste.
