Tourism Promotion, Timor-Leste Will Hold an International Business Forum

Dili, – To promote tourism in Timor-Leste, the Government of Timor-Leste will hold an International Business Forum in Dili for four (4) days from 23 to 26 November 2023.

Vice Prime-Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and the Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay.

“The aim of this forum is to promote Timor-Leste, especially the tourism sector,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, who also doubles as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and the Environment to journalists, Monday (20/11/2023 ), at the Palacio do Governo, Dili.

Even though the focus is tourism promotion, apart from investors in the tourism sector, this forum also invites investors from the agricultural, industrial, electricity and fisheries sectors.

The investors who will take part in this forum come from ASEAN organizations, entrepreneurs from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Australia, Korea and Japan.

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste, Jorge Serrano, said that this forum was important for the development of Timor-Leste and through this forum it could attract investors from various countries to invest in Timor-Leste.

“This forum is to look for big investors, not to open shops, even though the market in this country is small, we hope that through this forum we can attract investors to invest in Timor-Leste,” said Jorge Serrano.
