DILI, www.news-viptv.com – The government of South Korea in 2023 stated that it is ready to accept 1,000 workers from Timor-Leste who will work in the factory industry.
This was conveyed by the Korean Foreign Minister special envoy, Kim Chan-Beom, to journalists after meeting with the President of Timor-Leste, Jose Ramos-Horta, Wednesday (15/3/2023).

“This year the South Korean government has increased the quota of 1,000 workers from the previous number of only 500 workers, they will work in factories,” said Chan-Beom.
Since 2009 until now Timor Leste has sent over 5,320 Timorese workers and at the moment over 3500 Timorese workers continue to work in South Korea
In his meeting with the head of state of Timor-Leste, Chan-Beom also said that his party discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in the sectors of education, economy, development and employment, including supporting Timor-Leste’s membership as a new member of ASEAN and the WTO despite having observer status.
Apart from meeting the number one person in Timor-Leste, tomorrow (Thursday) he will also meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, Adaljiza Magno.
