Ensure Pipeline Brought to Timor-Leste, Government Allocated USD 16 Million for GSR Field Development

DILI, www.news-viptv.com – To ensure that oil and gas pipelines are brought to Timor-Leste, the Council of Ministers has authorized expenditure USD 16 Million for the development of the Greater Sun Rise (GSR).
The expenditure authorization was approved through the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Tuesday (4/11/2025), according to the project presented by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro.

With this deliberation, the Council of Ministers authorized expenditure in the total amount of US$ 16,055,897, which will be executed between 2025 and 2027, with the objective of implementing Program A13 of the General State Budget, which includes the development of the GSR gas field and the implementation of studies to ensure the necessary Timor-Leste.

This authorized amount covers the conduct of ultra-high resolution geophysical and seismic surveys (UHRS) related to the Greater Sunrise gas export pipeline and the Bayu Undan pipeline, which is essential for the technical and planning phase of the project.
