VIPTV, DILI – The government of Timor-Leste has included Pfizer as a new vaccine that will also be used in the COVID-19 immunization program.
Dra. Danina Coelho, as a spokeswoman for the Inter-Ministerial Commission on Vaccines against COVID-19, several weeks ago explained to reporters that the government had included Pfizer in the list of vaccine users in Timor-Leste.
He explained that the use of the Pfizer Vaccine will only be used for ages 12-17 years.
So far, the vaccines that have been used are AtraZeneca and Sinovac.
Of the two (2) vaccines, the number of doses that have been given to the public is 386,805 or 38.2%. With details 288,483 have been given at dose 1 and 98,322 at dose 2.
Of note, AstraZeneca has been given to 253,986 people at dose 1 and 80,714 people at dose 2. Meanwhile, Sinovac vaccine for dose 1 has been given to 34,497 people and 17,608 at dose 2.
Currently, Timor-Leste has recorded 10,744 cases of COVID-19 (data as of July 31, 2021, 10:00 WTL), and 9,848 have been declared cured and 26 people are registered as dead.
