DILI, www.news-viptv.com – Malaysian aviation company AirAsia will open its first Denpasar – Dili flight in early September 2024.
The plan for AirAsia’s first flight was conveyed directly by AirAsia’s representative in Indonesia, PT. Indonesia AirAsia when meeting the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Xanana Gusmão, Monday (8/7/2024), at the Palacio do Governo, Dili.

Choosing early September, because according to Edwin there is a historic visit from Pope Francisco who will visit Dili, Timor-Leste.
In his meeting, PM Xanana recommended that PT Indonesia AirAsia coordinate with the Timor-Leste Ministry of Transport and Communications for operational permits.
The AirAsia flight to Dili, explained Edwin, will bring many passengers from various countries in ASEAN to Timor-Leste.
“We will carry passengers from ASEAN, which will be connected to Timor-Leste, that’s why we are starting with one plane to Timor-Leste, but we will also look at other potential to fly to Kuala Lumpur and Darwin. Which this will be “A large group of AirAsia flights from many countries in China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia,” said Edwin.
AirAsia has long been known as a low-cost and affordable airline. And already has 100 aircraft, and is currently ordering an additional 362 new aircraft, with the type of aircraft owned being the Airbus A320-200 with a capacity of 180 passengers, there are 68 aircraft, 29 units of the Airbus A320 Neo with a capacity of 186 passengers, 2 units of the Airbus A321 Neo with a capacity of 236 passengers and for this type AirAsia is also ordering 362 new aircraft, as well as 1 Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 277 passengers.
