DILI, news-viptv.com – The Australian government plans to provide Timor-Leste with two (2) Guardian-class Patrol Vessel in 2023 to support security patrols in the Timor-Leste sea waters.

Reported on the Australia in Timor-Leste Facebook page, the Australian Government through its ambassador, Peter Robert, has signed a joint agreement between Australia and Timor-Leste on the construction of the naval port infrastructure of Hera to support the vessel stop.

Timor-Leste represented by the Minister of Defence, Filomeno da Paixão de Jesus and witnessed by the Commander of the F-FDTL, Major General Lere Anan Timur.

This arrangement provides administrative and procedural certainty to guide the development of infrastructure at Port Hera for Timor-Leste’s two Guardian-class Patrol Boats.

The infrastructure development is an exciting step in our defence partnership as we continue to work together to support maritime security in our region.
