Timor-Leste Awards Medal of Merit to 3 Generals from Different Countries

DILI, www.news-viptv.com – Timor-Leste on 20 August 2022 in celebration of the 47th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the National Liberation of Timor-Leste – FALINTIL will award medals of merit to 3 generals from 3 countries.

The three generals are, the Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia, General Andika Perkasa, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Portuguese Republic, Admiral António Manuel Fernandes da Silva Ribeiro, and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Australia, General Angus Campbell.

In addition to the three generals, there is also the name of a retired general AM. Hendropriyono, Former Minister as well as Former Head of the National Intelligence Service of the Republic of Indonesia and Seroja Operations Veteran, Retired General Abdullah Makhmud Hendropriyono.

According to the agenda, the four of them will receive the award directly from President Jose Ramos-Horta which is planned to be presented at the Government Palace Palacio do Governo, Dili.

The awarding of a medal of merit is based on Decree Law Number 15/2009 of 18 March to recognize and thank civilians and military personnel, national and international, who have made a significant contribution to peace and national stability.
